Domaine des Salins, the “family” spirit
At the Domaine des Salins campsite, we are committed to welcoming families and giving them a little of ourselves through what we call “family spirit”.
But what is this family spirit? What do we put into it to make it really good? really nice? really family-oriented?
Well, first and foremost, Domaine des Salins is a family affair.
Let’s go back in time and take a minute to tell you our story…
It all began in 2006, when parents Michelle and Joseph Vrignaud, already operators of a campsite in Saint Jean de Monts, La Prairie, decided to take on a new challenge by acquiring a second campsite: Domaine des Salins in Saint Hilaire de Riez, their home town. The Vrignaud family have lived in Saint Hilaire de Riez all their lives.
But they couldn’t do it alone, so they asked Nicolas and Céline, their two eldest children, to join them in this adventure. And so, for the next ten years, two duos were formed: Céline and Joseph at Domaine des Salins, and Michelle and Nicolas at La Prairie. One man at maintenance and one woman at reception per campsite. That’s how, year after year, Michelle and Joseph tried to instill in their children and successors the “family spirit” they hold so dear!
Guillaume, the youngest member of the Vrignaud family, joined the family tribe in 2015, gradually replacing Joseph.
But it’s not just because we’re a family that we cultivate this family spirit. It’s also, and above all, because for us, camping is all about smiles, sharing, conviviality and simplicity. It’s all about smiles, sharing, conviviality and simplicity.
It also means thinking of each and every one of you when we choose new mobile homes for the campsite: we do as if it were for us: comfort, volume, quality of bedding, care: will the cot fit? We have to answer all these questions and many more, because it’s our job, of course, but above all because we do it for our customers. Because we know that families are coming to spend perhaps their one and only week of vacation with us, and that we have no right to make mistakes. We are well aware of the responsibility we have in making your vacation a success.
Similarly, when it comes to making purchases or new investments, we always think: “Will our customers use this or that service? Will they like it? And what about the kids: will they like it? All these questions are omnipresent in our choices.
So for us, that’s what “family spirit” means: above all, it means thinking about your needs and expectations, without ever forgetting that what counts above all else is people.
It’s the smile on your face when you come to see us, the words we exchange when we pass each other in the aisles, the interest we take in your children’s fun, …
In short, we’re delighted to welcome you, and we hope you’ll feel the same!
